The traditional approach to Breast Augmentation was to have patients take one week off from normal activities, such as work and child-care, and then gradually resume their lives. However, this window of time lost was significant, and the necessity of “down time” caused many women to postpone or even not consider breast augmentation because their lives were simply too busy.
At Renaissance Plastic Surgery, Dr. Fata has introduced a new approach to Breast Augmentation in which the emphasis is on a rapid recovery and quick return to normal activities. This protocol has been tested in clinical studies, and has shown that 95% of patients are able to return to normal activities, such as work, driving, shopping and childcare, within 24 hours.
The key principles are patient education, precise surgical technique and careful selection of medication. By using exercises to relax the tissues and surgical techniques that decrease swelling, there is less discomfort after surgery. As a result, narcotic pain medicines are rarely necessary. You will not be drowsy and the risk of other side effects, such as nausea, will be minimal. Tight, restrictive dressings have been eliminated so that you will be able to move around more freely
By following all of the steps in this protocol, you will leave the surgery center comfortable and wide-awake, just the way you came in. You will be allowed to do anything that you feel up to doing. Going for a walk, shopping, or going out to dinner are all fair game
Our philosophy is that the sooner you are allowed to be yourself again the shorter your recovery will be. If you follow the simple steps in our program, you can safely achieve the goal of being “back to normal” in 24 hours. Why would you do it any other way?
