I'm not going to lie. I was like a lot of other people when I was judgmental about breast implants. I thought it was very superficial and selfish for someone to get something fake put into their bodies strictly for looks. I thought it was something only celebrities and strippers did. I was wrong.

After I gave birth to my second child I found that my breasts weren't what they used to be. I was fortunate to have really nice breasts, growing up and throughout my younger years I've always received compliments on my breasts. My husband was my biggest fan. However after my second child I noticed a very obvious "deflation." My husband used to call them sad faces, because that's what they looked like. After my first child I hadn't noticed, but it was after the second where it was very obvious.

I felt my self esteem go out the window. As a woman, breasts are a huge part of what makes us feel feminine and to have that aspect lost, really did a number on my confidence and identity as a woman.

I was humbled. It finally occurred to me what it was like to have this mark of a woman, pretty much disappear. This entire time I was calling other women selfish thinking they were acting out of superficial means, but the reality is that, in most cases, it's not so much that it's superficial, it's because it's a feminine issue.

A woman should feel like a woman. She has every right to her identity.

So I did my research. Found my wonderful, wonderful doctor.

And now I feel like a woman again.
