Getting Even by Mary AnneSuccess Stories Index Before surgery, my breasts were very uneven and the size difference was unbelievable. One breast was a small C and the other an A. Because of this, I was forced to stuff my bra so that my breasts appeared even. I would hide behind baggy t-shirts just so people couldn’t tell my boobs were lopsided. I knew that I needed breast reconstruction/augmentation, but was too scared to go under the knife. I began doing research on the procedure and found out that with all the latest techniques and technologies, breast augmentation was pretty safe.
With my mind somewhat at ease, I started to look for a plastic surgeon in my area. Going through the phone book was my first option, but then I realized that I wanted to see actual patient results before choosing a surgeon. So my second option was to use the Internet and look for before and after photos on surgeon websites. While searching, I landed on a directory called Breast Implants USA. It was just what I was looking for. The site provided me with a list of plastic surgeons in my area and links to their profile sites within the directory. I went through a series of profiles, but decided to setup a consultation with Dr. Peter Hyans of New Jersey for his excellent before and after results. During my consultation Dr. Hyans made me feel confident in what I was getting myself into. Because of this, I went ahead and booked a surgery date.
On the day of my surgery, I was somewhat nervous, but I remembered the baggy t-shirts and it reminded me that I needed to do this. When I woke up from the surgery, I looked down at my girls and to my surprise they were actually even. No more bra stuffing and baggy clothes!!! I knew that in about a month’s time I’d be at the mall shopping for new clothes.
